In the last 3 years with DSL connections going mainstream and increasing consumption of online video content and with YouTube is the hub for video content in the region, I interestingly tracked down some of the popular YouTube channels for number of subscribers and views, here I provide a quick comparison in numbers between some of the popular TV Shows for talent discovery in signing.

Last Monday, amidst all the unusual rains and bloc Last Monday, amidst all the unusual rains and blocked traffic in Cairo, I received multiple requests to cancel/reschedule this @egypreneur gathering but I was very glad that 5 panelists and 42 participants in addition to Mike DuVal from @legacyintl and the fabulous @startuphauscairo team showed up to discuss creating a bridge between the entrepreneurs in Cairo and existing funding vechicles in the U. S. and beyond... I'm personally inspired by the passion and commitment of everyone who joined and contributed that day, stay tuned for follow-up posts from @egypreneur and the next activity to be announced... We rewarded those who showed up despite the rain and traffic with a shameless promotion on @egypreneur's 70K followers account on Twitter. Tweet them with a request if you haven't got yours... What a fabulous evening that was! I also admire walking downtown Cairo in the rain, with Frank Sinatra's 'dancing in the rain' in the background...

Highlights of the day: Age is just a number, 80-year-old man climbed down the belly of The Red Pyramid and back up, yes I have seen him resurrected, with his walking stick while a middle-aged lady in sportswear who planned and meditated the trip down the belly of the same pyramid, decided she is claustrophobic after a few steps down there. She was pretty funny about it though. BATs do live inside one of these pyramids - funniest moment when a young lady looked around asking for what do they live on? Then, slowly, rolling her eyes around an empty pyramid chamber, answered herself with a frightened gaze: "Humans" and jumped downstairs, I cracked so much it filled the empty chamber and I bet the Bats did like the entertainment too. I hope the souls, spirit guards and ancient Gods were not angry at us though. I guess we will see about it soon. Was hard to digest that the area known today as "Meet Rahena/100 hostages" actually lies on top of Memphis, the old capital of Egypt. But hey, time works wonders.
My biggest and almost only goal that I could artic My biggest and almost only goal that I could articulate for 2020 is to allow myself to be at a 'state of flow' more frequently. Trusting and allowing vs. Middling and controlling. Clarifying and practicing the difference in every thought, action and interaction is the most worthy of goals. 'Being' other than 'doing'. Happy new year everyone!!
It's quite a turn off for me when people say that It's quite a turn off for me when people say that they want to 'be something' other than to 'do something'. Associating your identity, your value and your worth with a certain state you reach through participating in the education system, competitive sports or the corporate world seems funny from such a high place. People who seek power for power itself and what it reflects on their identity are more likely to abuse it and waste it. Though, pursuing goals for impact, play and commercial benefits makes the journey much softer and enjoyable. You reach a state in which you rarely need to exercise your power, though don't mind to show when the situation calls for it. But mostly everyone and everything flows as they are meant and designed to, you barely nudge, adjust and smooth the process. I don't want to be anything, but I have a wild vision for what the world would look like when what I conceived in my internal world is released. For which I'm willing to do a lot. None of what I do and accomplish adds a cent to who I am though, at least in my internal world.

How do you initiate, stage and steer a fleet of ships in a new direction? Choosing what not to do is as important as chooing what to do. Conversations, tests and recalling experiences are essential to reaching a conclusion. But by the end of the day, especially for the battle-hardened, it's a gut feeling. In your world, how do you stage / pilot / introduce a new strategy?

Staying committed to "Reality: the way things are" is essential to getting things done, especially if you are more of the "iNtuitive" rather than the "Sensory" type. I learnt to get in the habit of a 20-30 mins walks twice a day to get back to reality - what's more real than noisy downtown streets? honk honk -, after the walks I inform decisions over Intranets, CRM, Comms, Emails and Proposals. What habits, systems and tools do you use to stay grounded in the reality of the way things are?
